Word of Mouth
Word of mouth – something small businesses live and die by. We all know that, and I had a lovely reminder of this last week.
We took a last minute booking from a couple from out of town who were looking for a chauffeur driver to take the hassle out of driving in Auckland. They wanted to head north, and we had fun putting together a bespoke itinerary just for them that included lunch overlooking the water, and the opportunity to buy wine, their top two ‘must do’s’.
As their driver was returning to Auckland at the end of the day he asked them how they found out about us, and was told the following.
They had been sitting in a café the day prior and overheard a conversation taking place between two parties at the table next to them. One was praising the Alpha service and stating quite vehemently that they would not use anyone else. The passion of the statement was enough to prompt our new customers to look us up, and get in touch.
And just like that I was reminded that reputation is everything!
Recognition of, and validation for, what you are doing is ultimately the fact that your customers are winning business for you. And as we rebuild off the back of a very challenging year it's hearting to know the effort that goes into maintaining that reputation is being rewarded.
