The Word from Pete: On the hardest part of business
Peter Cook
Author. Chair. Mentor. Monk. Helping people get what they want, do the work they're meant to do and live extraordinary lives.
It’s been almost a quarter of a century since I quit my last job. Almost half my life being self-employed, running businesses and helping others run businesses.
I’ve seen lots of businesses be successful, and lots fail.
The successful businesses were never successful in a linear fashion. The graph is never a straight line.
In every case there were tough times. Times when sales weren’t coming in. Times when money was tight.
I think the hardest part of business is maintaining faith during those times.
If you’re in one of those times now, know that it's normal. That you’re not alone. That this is the heroic part of the hero’s journey.
Keep your head up, and keep going.
