Word of the Day: Discernment

Word of the Day: Discernment

“My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.” — Proverbs 1:10

Grace and peace to you, my dear followers and viewers, from the Almighty God, who is our father, and His beloved son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am yours truly, Minister Michael Rey, who is sent from Christ Jesus by the will of God, to share the good news with His chosen people.

Welcome to “Speak Now Ministries”.

The purpose of “Speak Now Ministries” is to speak the truth and expose ungodly people through biblical principles.”

It is a divine honor and privilege to share with you today the importance of “Discernment”.

When God warns us not to do something that would jeopardize our livelihood, why do we reject it and still do them anyway?

That is the question all of us need to ponder.

Warnings are good for us, whether we believe it or not. When we go into a dark aisle and see sinful people entice us to come over and join them in their evil deeds, we need to listen to our gut and trust our instincts. Normally, our first instinct is to not do wrong, but when an opportunity to do evil presents itself, we jump on it and never turn back.

This is why God warns us through discernment. By having discernment, we can detest evil spirits and know when to approach them. For example, if you see a stranger on the sidewalk with his/her hand raised to get a ride, your discernment will determine whether you should either accept their invitation or decline it.

Now, it is clear to see that we should never accept anyone we don’t know who vows to beg us for either money or shelter these days. You can’t trust their motives and how they will use you to benefit their needs. It is important to discern whether someone deserves help and decline those who need help for evil gain.

Here is a scripture that all of us should do during those situations:

“My son, do not go along with them, do not set your foot on their paths; for their feet rush into evil, they are swift to shed blood.”

If this verse doesn’t let you know how to approach sinful people, then you need to ask God for wisdom and discernment.

So I charge you today to not follow the paths of evil people, but to follow God’s path. Don’t be easily influenced or distracted by family members or friends to do evil things that don’t suit you in the long run. Always turn to God quietly and use your first instinct. Don’t care about their feelings if you don’t go along with them.

For it is those types of people whom God will deal with come judgment day.
