REFLECTION:

Every human is filled with their wants-desire to be at the top, to be strong, or to be peaceful - in physical, emotional, or spiritual areas. Most of the desires (wants) stem from what the world shows. Even though we profess, God willing, we do what we want to or what our heart desires.

God has given us a free will to choose what we want. After redeeming us from the hands of the enemy, He could have easily bound us, yet He gave us this free will. A will do to what we want, at the same time to do His will and please His will. He puts these desires in our heart to walk with Him, following the perfect model of Jesus. Though one may doubt, what am I getting from doing God’s will? His will is for our prosperity, love, joy, peace, which no man or thing can give us. He is our Father, and He would never put anything offensive on to us.

St Paul simply emphasizes this truth: Jesus’s glory could not be contained in the heaven, yet

- He stepped down lower than the angels and walked on this earth to show His love for us

- His humility and obedience to do His Father’s will, and to re-establish the broken connection with God and mankind

- The sacrifice of His life for every unworthy soul.

No one man can do all this, but Jesus. God did it completely as a man on this earth. He led us in ways that we needed to walk. And we as His believers are to imitate His path and actively seek His heart with humility, relying on His strength to do His will. Ultimately affirming that it is God who empowers and enables us to do so, underscoring His very hand in our lives.

It describes the impact that His will is active in the lives of His people. This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the divine partnership of God with His people.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord Jesus, it is challenging to walk in the path that You have set out for me. Yet, I am willing to do Your will and please You. Help me to walk this path in humility and obedience as You give me strength to do so, Amen.
