I was honoured to be the MC for the 68th International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide where Minister Simon Birmingham announced that Australia will proceed to develop it's own space agency.

Great news for a country that has played a crucial role in humanity's reaching for the stars. Our southern hemisphere orientation makes us the eyes to half of the night sky and the role we have played in past space missions has been crucial.

And now young Australians can grow up hoping to one day themselves travel into space or make a vital contribution to Astronautics and Astronomy.
