Are you familiar with the film “Amélie”? Originally released under the French title “Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain” (The fabulous destiny of Amélie Poulain), it tells the story of the wonderfully imaginative world that Amélie creates. The movie was an international hit, bringing in USD 140 million, of which USD 30 million was in the US alone. Not only that, it was ranked by the BBC as one of the 100 Greatest Films of the 21st Century, gained extensive media coverage and received glowing reviews from around the world.
The main character, Amélie, works as a waitress in the Café des 2 Moulins in the 18th arrondissement (district) of Paris. Although her day-to-day life seems rather gray, she finds joy in the little things and makes it her mission to make people happy. The movie ends on a positive note when Amélie, too, is finally able to find her own happiness.
