"As someone who is 64 and starting to feel the inevitable pull of the years ahead, I recently finished reading The Rule of 70, and I have to say, it’s exactly the kind of book I didn’t know I needed.

It’s a compassionate, uplifting guide that completely reshapes how I think about aging—and about the phases of life that follow once you reach 70. What stood out to me most is how the author combines statistical insights with personal stories to show that aging doesn’t have to be something we dread or avoid thinking about. Instead, it’s a new phase to prepare for, not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and socially.

The book emphasizes that life doesn’t stop at 70; rather, it’s a transition, one that can be full of joy, fulfillment, and growth. In fact, the author suggests that how we navigate this transition starts long before we reach 70—and this is where The Rule of 70 really resonated with me. I appreciated how the book breaks down the process into simple, actionable steps. From staying physically healthy to nurturing relationships, managing finances, and even taking a closer look at our own mindset, each chapter offers practical advice that feels both doable and realistic. It’s not about making drastic changes overnight, but about creating a life that, by the time we reach 70, sets us up for success—however we define it.

What I didn’t expect, and what truly surprised me, was how The Rule of 70 also talks about the emotional and psychological side of aging. It’s not just about health and finances; the book emphasizes the importance of staying engaged with life, being mindful, and maintaining a sense of wonder and joy. As someone who is in the midst of this transitional period, I realized that I’ve been focusing too much on what I might lose, rather than what I could gain by embracing this next phase. In the end, I finished the book with a sense of peace and anticipation, rather than anxiety.

The Rule of 70 gives me the tools to think ahead, but also encourages me to live more fully right now. It’s not a “guide to old age”; it’s a guide to living, with intention, in every phase of life. If you’re in your 60s, or even earlier, I can’t recommend this book enough. It offers a perspective on aging that is both refreshing and realistic—and it reminds us that the best years may still be ahead. I am giving one to my 40 year old daughter and several friends. Don’t miss this rare find!!"

If you haven't read the book, check it out. It could change your outlook on life.

If you have please write an honest review here or here.
