Women's Major Round Up

Women's Major Round Up

With the conclusion of the Women’s British Open, the Major season for 2022 is over, so it’s time we reflected on the equipment used across all nine Majors. This blog is all going to be about the equipment used by the winners of all five of the Women’s Majors.

Three out of the five Women’s Major winners were all Ping staff players, who had a mix of latest and old Ping models in their bags.

Ping’s success was kicked off by Jennifer Kupcho at the Chevron Championship. The Ping i210 irons featured again, which have been a mainstay in a lot of golf bags not only in the professional game but in the amateur game since their release in 2018. Making up the rest of her bag was G425 LST driver, G410 LST 3-wood, G410 & G425 hybrid, Glide Forged Pro wedges, and a Ping PLD Kushin.

Brooke Henderson, the winner of the Evian Championship, had a mix of G400 and G425 woods in the bag, alongside i210 irons, Glide 4.0 wedges and a Cadence TR – Ketsch C putter. https://www.golfclubs4cash.co.uk/collections/all/products/ping-g400-driver-110

Similarly, to Henderson, Women’s PGA Championship winner Chun In-gee had a mix of Ping clubs in the bag, further highlighting the consistent quality of PING clubs over the years. In-gee had the G410 driver, G425 7 & 9-wood, G425 hybrid, i210 irons, Glide & Edel DVR wedges and an all-time classic Anser putter. https://www.golfclubs4cash.co.uk/pages/search-results-page?q=ping%20anser%20putter

Perhaps unexpectedly to some, Srixon was in the bags of the winners of the U.S Women’s Open and the A.I.G Women’s Open. It comes after Hideki Matsuyama won The Masters in 2021 with a full bag of Srixon clubs. A brand often slept on, but we see so many Srixon clubs through our doors and they’re incredibly high quality, it’s another brand to consider if you’re in the market for clubs. https://www.golfclubs4cash.co.uk/pages/search-results-page?q=ladies%20srixon

Winner of A.I.G Women’s Open, Ashleigh Buhai used a mixture of clubs on route to her first Major win. In the bag was: Callaway Epic Speed driver, Ping G425 fairway woods, Srixon Z H85 hybrid, Srixon ZX7 irons, Cleveland RTX ZipCore wedges and an Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K One putter. This further shows the increase in popularity of having clubs suited to your game rather than being tied down to a particular manufacturer. We always advise our customers to be open minded when it comes to what clubs they want, as they may be best switching from a brand that’s better suited to their game. https://www.golfclubs4cash.co.uk/products/ladies-callaway-epic-speed-driver-10-5-degree-ladies-flex-shaft-cadepi2710

Minjee Lee was victorious in the U.S. Women’s Open. The Championship, held at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club had the biggest prize fund in women’s golf history, with Lee taking home a huge $1.8 million. At the close of play on Saturday Lee sat at the top of the leader board, leading the way at 13 under, a 54-hole scoring record. A level par 71 sealed the victory for Lee. As a Srixon staff player, her bag was mostly made up of Srixon clubs, apart from the Cleveland RTX ZipCore wedges and Scotty Cameron Circle T Newport 2 Special Select putter. Completing the set was: Srixon ZX7 driver, ZXF 3 & 5 wood, ZXH hybrid and ZX7 irons. https://www.golfclubs4cash.co.uk/pages/search-results-page?q=scotty%20cameron
