What does embracing equity mean to you?

To me, #EmbraceEquity means fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone to feel valued and respected. It is about ensuring that each individual has access to the resources and opportunities they need to grow and succeed.?

#EmbraceEquity, means not simply making everything equal for everyone but individualizing resources and support. For example, if everyone is going bike riding and they are each given the exact same bike with no personal adjustments (eg for their height), then the individual's needs haven’t been met in order for them to be successful. The bike needs to be adjusted to reflect each individual's circumstance, experience, and environment.

#EmbraceEquity means providing support and resources to those that need it so everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

What advice would you give your younger self?

There are 3 clear pieces of advice that I would give my younger self, starting my career:?

1. Be confident in your ability and knowledge - Don’t overthink it, just do it.?
2. Everyone experiences moments of imposter syndrome - It’s common, so let’s normalise it! Even the most senior people that you idolise will have moments of imposter syndrome. Don’t let it consume your actions and prevent you from saying “Yes” to new opportunities.?
3. Ask questions - You don’t have to know everything straight away, and no one expects you to know it all. Turn to the people around you to ask open and inquisitive questions. Fallback plan, Google it!

How would you like to inspire the next generation of women?

I would like to inspire the next generation of women entering the workforce by being passionate in encouraging them to actively build their confidence through mentorship - both official and unofficial. I believe that making conscious decisions to learn and grow from people with experience and knowledge that inspires us, is invaluable to our futures, both professionally and personally. I encourage the next generation of women to lean into new opportunities as they arise, through being brave and curious, because this is pivotal to growth.
