Women’s History Month Employee Spotlight: Meet Jessie Sun

Effectus Group acknowledges the significance of recognizing the achievements and contributions of women in diverse fields. In honor of Women's History Month, we will feature a few of the many exceptional women at Effectus. These women serve as leaders, mentors and sources of inspiration for us.

We are honored to spotlight Jessie Sun, a Senior Manager in our Tech Practice.

Q: What advice would you give to women in your field?

A: It's easy for women to feel like we're not accomplishing enough especially when we compare ourselves to other people. My advice (which I'm still learning myself too) is to shift our focus towards our own goals and achievements, both in our professional and personal lives, rather than making comparisons to others.

Q: How are you breaking barriers faced by women in your field? 

A: As a new working mother, I make an effort to remain flexible and adaptable, and to prioritize my time so that I can focus on the most important tasks in order to navigate the new challenges I face every day (both at work and at home). In order to gain confidence, I also try to focus on my strengths and build on them.

Q: Tell us about a woman you look up to and why.

A: "Success isn't about how your life looks to others. It's about how it feels to you." - Michelle Obama. She is a fantastic role model for working women and mothers, demonstrating that it is possible to balance a successful career with being dedicated to our families and personal lives.
