Women's history month .. Ada

Women's history month .. Ada

Named after my mom, my sister Ada is 10 years older than me.

Growing up, Ada kept everyone at home in line when it came to organization and house chores.

Always doing everything in the right way, orderly, professional looking. I loved the days she did the perfect pig tails on me before going to elementary school.

I remember her days of college and some of her field trips to places in Coahuila state, coming back home with tarantulas, and other specimens that they dissected at school.

Ada was the first one of the ten kids to get married, and to start the grandkids line for my parents. My first niece was a joy, she was like my doll, I enjoyed babysitting her, doing her hair and dressing her up.

Ada taught biology, physics and chemistry to middle school kids.. only someone smart and with patience could do that, I always thought.?

My sister lost her husband suddenly over a decade ago. She continued working, and since then became even more of a rock to her kids, and grandson. She retired a few years ago.

She has always cooked deliciously; every time I eat at her house I just get transported to the times growing up in Saltillo.

I grew closer to her more in the last decade than when I was a kid; perhaps because once we get to certain age, the difference is not as important, and we can talk about anything.

Ada is very caring, strong and sensible. She is the main person assuring our older dad is doing well at the retirement home.

I admire her strength, commitment, and great heart. I believe one trait I share with her is organization at home.

Love you, sis 2!

I will remember her for her organization, scientific mind, tarantulas and home-tasting food. It would be an honor to meet Ada!
