Women’s Health Innovation Conference 2024

The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Women’s Health Innovation Conference, held on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, was a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to improve women's health across the region. This event not only shared inspiring stories but also launched the much-anticipated Big Conversation. Siobhan Flynn, NENC VCSE Engagement Manager, provides insights into the highlights of the day.?

Last year’s Women’s Health Conference was focused on turning intent into real action, laying the groundwork for the NENC Women’s Health Strategy. This year, we celebrated and showcased the tangible progress made across our regional footprint.?

Change is already happening across NENC:?

  • New initiatives provide better menopause support.?

  • Improved care for breast pain, fertility, and maternal health.?

  • Community pharmacies now provide UTI treatments and contraceptives.?

Ensuring that women across the region feel empowered to speak up about their healthcare needs and experiences was a key drive of the day. The BIG conversation was launched, with the opportunity to share our own perspectives on the day. You can get involved by taking part in the survey and sharing the opportunity through your own networks by using the BIG Conversation toolkit. The VCSE sector can play a crucial role in supporting these efforts, ensuring that women's voices are heard and their healthcare needs are met. Now is your chance to get involved in the BIG Conversation and help shape the future of women’s health in our region.
