Women's call for Gender Equality? Where do we start?

Women, how do we really raise awareness about gender equality?
Today the world celebrates the International Women's day to :
*celebrate women's achievements
*raise awareness about women's equality
*lobby for accelerated gender parity
*fundraise for female-focused charities.
But where do we start?
It's 2021 and we have come a long way.
From the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 that eventually lead to the suffrage law that allows women to vote and hold office to the series of inspiring stories of women shattering the glass ceilings over and over again since then.
It's the year of 2021 and a lot of things can be accelerated. There are many things that we can do without waiting for a change of law.
I'd say, let's begin with our selves.
I #ChooseToChallenge all women who are reading this to step up, not so much of doing more but of BEING more...
BE :
*KIND and COMPASSIONATE to ourselves.
What are the conversation that we have with ourselves ?
Do we judge and ridicule ourselves ?
Do we suppress and deny all our strengths, abilities and achievements ?
Do we forgive ourselves for our past mistakes ?
When we practice kindness and compassion with self, it will flow to others effortlessly. To our family, loved ones, people we work with and the community as a whole.
*COURAGEOUS
When was the last we do something that we are afraid of, but we do it it anyway?
What is holding you back from getting what you want in life?
What is stopping you from doing that thing that you always thought about ?
What is stopping you from stepping out from the shit you got into, and step out into the unknown?
What is stopping you from telling the people who have been treating you like shit to stop because you don't deserve it?
Courage is built when you start taking action , even with the small steps. Courage doesn't come by concept or by thinking about it.
Go out there and make things happen.!
*RELENTLESS
What made you stop halfway in pursuing your dream?
Why would you allow the society or other people to stop you?
What is the conversation that made you want to quit?
When you are relentless, you mean business. When you mean business, you become relentless.
*COLLABORATIVE
Who are we in competition with ? We only win our "competition" when we have taken the step to become a better person than we are in the past.
Who can we collaborate with so that together we rise?
Who can you give support and uplift so that together, women can rise?
Today, collaboration is the name of the game. We rise by uplifting each other.
Whether we are a full time home maker who is raising kids at home, a career woman, an activist or a leader in the community , we can all BE kind & compassionate, courageous, relentless and collaborative. It is not confined by our job title, what we do for a living or what our position is in our society.
Here's a tribute to wonderful and amazing women who have been continuously shattering the glass ceiling and making way for the rest of us. Who's next?
