Women’s Day: A Reflection on Progress and Empowerment

Women’s Day: A Reflection on Progress and Empowerment

By Ashish C. , Vice President - Facilites, Simpliwork Offices

Women’s Day is not just a date on the calendar - it’s a heartfelt acknowledgment of the strength, perseverance, and extraordinary contributions of women in every aspect of life. I have been privileged to witness women breaking barriers, overcoming obstacles, and making an indelible impact—not just in boardrooms but in homes, communities, and beyond. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire me every day.

Empowerment in Everyday Actions

Empowerment isn’t about policies alone - it’s about recognizing women’s voices, ensuring their contributions are valued, and creating an environment where they can lead and succeed without barriers. At work, I have seen how fostering inclusivity unlocks potential and drives growth. At home, it’s about standing as equal partners, encouraging dreams, and raising young girls to know their worth. True empowerment happens when we actively support women, not just in words but in daily actions.

At Simpliwork, we ensure the inclusion of women in all possible lines of business, including Procurement, Design, Leasing, Customer Success, and Facility Management (FM) operations. We take pride in our workforce, which includes 26 Female Facility Managers & Executives, 170 women in Facility Management, and 16 female security guards. With a 23% Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) ratio at the organisational level, we are committed to fostering a workplace where women can thrive and lead.

Challenging Stereotypes, Creating Opportunities.

For too long, society has defined what men and women “should” do, but real progress begins when we challenge these outdated notions. I’ve seen firsthand how breaking stereotypes opens doors to incredible possibilities—whether it’s a woman leading a high-stakes business negotiation, a mother balancing career and family with unwavering strength, or a young girl fearlessly chasing her ambitions. Success should be about passion, talent, and effort—not limited by gender.

A Commitment Beyond One Day

Women’s Day is a moment of reflection, but our commitment must extend far beyond a single day of recognition. True change happens in the choices we make every day—choosing to listen, support, and uplift women in every sphere of life. It means standing against bias, creating opportunities, and fostering a culture where equality is not just an ideal, but a lived reality.

As I reflect, I feel immense gratitude for the incredible women I have worked with, learned from, and been inspired by. Their strength, resilience, and vision continue to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible.

Let’s not just celebrate women—let’s champion them, uplift them, and commit to real change. Because when women rise, we all rise.
