Women's Day in 2024!

Its March 8th, Women's Day - messages, campaigns keep flowing in and women are celebrated for their existence, yes. It's 2024 and I am not sure what has REALLY changed since the years gone by except the superficial celebrations discounts, happy hours and what not that limits to a segment that can afford it.

It's 2024 and we are still discussing equality which is far fetched - be it home, work a women really has to struggle more so if you are a mother, always torn between multiple roles.

Learnt the hard way that it's okay to not be perfect in everything that's done no matter what the mind wants, it's okay to go with your heart. For a women no matter which century you were born in - you have to learn to make peace with what you have.

If you are ambitious, you are not caring for the family; if you are clear in your thoughts and stand by what is right - you are disrespectful. Well, I don't even want to go to the biases set up by the society.

At work, no matter if you work the hardest you are always looked upon as your job is not important, in the worst case if you are laid-off, it's okay since you are not the primary earning member, but more of a supplement.

Well, it's the supplement is what earns most women the respect they own in this society. The financial independence comes with that supplement which is what they have earned by going through the same set of education as their male counterparts.

The least a women expects is to be respected EVERY SINGLE DAY for the choices she made for herself, it has not been easy but oh well she's trying.

Happy Women's Day to all the Women and huge shoutout to the men in their life who do the bare minimum for them to let them just BE.
