Foundation

Born in Chennai and grew up with the city and saw how it magnificently transformed to what it stands now. Graduated in Mathematics and then completed the Masters in Computer Applications and also completed MPhil in Computer Science. Though born in an affluent family, due to unforeseen conditions had to hit the hard road when father had a brain hemorrhage and family business had a tremendous loss. From then, all the money that came in was spent for father’s medical condition and repaying the debts. The only road I had ahead of my mind was getting into a job and studied very hard and completed all my three degrees in Merit. My first 2 years was into academics and I was a PGT in Computer Science in a reputed education institution. Unfortunately, my father passed away when I was 23, leaving the entire family in shock. My father’s pension stopped, my mother’s rental income was kept on hold for various reasons by my own maternal uncle, my brother’s business wasn’t yielding any income, the only income was my 5k/month which I was getting regularly. I also used to take home tuitions to cover my miscellaneous expenses as well.

The only agenda I had in mind was to bring food to the table and pay the rent for our house. We were a family of 6 including 2 little children. This was in 2005.

Key Turning Point

Though Teaching was my passion, had to forgo my passion considering the current situation and joined in Slashsupport, now Movate at 2005 as a Trainee for Technical Support. Life turns for everyone at a point of time. For me it was when I stepped into Slashsupport. Post my probation confirmation, I took a Personal Loan and asked my brother to give it a last try. He completely changed the domain of his business and started a new venture which slowly picked up and funds started to come in. In the meantime as a part of Career progression, moved from the Customer Support to Infrastructure Support , this was the game changer for me. Joined as an Exchange Administrator, Completed the Lotus notes certification and worked as a Domino Administrator, moved to middle management and started handling Operations, Delivery, Quality and excelled as a People Manager. In 2009, became the Team Lead and then got married. Had lot of tribulations in personal life has well but nothing stopped me from pursuing my career. I ensured my deliverables were top-notch and started focusing on other avenues as well.?Now after 18+ years at Movate, I am designated as a Project Manager and my graph has considerably increased in the upper trend not only on the monetary terms but also on my personality factor. I have reaped loads of confidence and self-esteem in all these years and its something I wish to cherish and nurture throughout. I have been married for the last 13+ years and have a supporting spouse and 8 year old boy to provide more purpose to my life.?

Key Success and Failure

My perseverance is my key value and not saying ‘No’ many times both personally and professionally took a hit in my work life balance which took years for me to restore.

Message to Aspiring Leaders

Its one of my favourite quote, “ You may have not won the battle but you have survived the war”?- Life isn’t fair to all and all of us have undergo from the best to worst situations. Yes, truth will hit us hard but recover, stand-up and start running again. No one will run for you. You are responsible for Yourself and be proud of that and aspire to take the responsibility of living your life. When you have this mindset and take this responsibility, trust me – No one will be able to push you down.
