The Women Who Have Inspired My Life and Career – Every Single Day

There have been many defining moments in my life - some big, some small - but in each of them, there has been a woman standing by me, shaping me, influencing me, and often saving me from myself.
It’s easy to celebrate women for their big victories - the pathbreakers, the glass-ceiling smashers, the history-makers. But today, I want to recognize something even more powerful: the everyday presence, the silent strength, and the unwavering impact of the women in my life.
It All Begins With a Mother
It starts where it always does - with a mother’s love and sacrifice.
My mother was my first leader, first teacher, and first protector. She stayed awake with me when I studied late at night, over-worried when I was late, and prayed relentlessly when I was serving in the army. She lived my struggles as if they were her own, never once asking for recognition.
Even today, when I think of resilience, I think of her.
Then Came My Sisters – Who Made Me Who I Am
Being the eldest comes with its own perks and pitfalls. My two younger sisters bore the brunt of having a big brother - endless advice, unnecessary authority, and, of course, a few childhood wrestling matches (I admit I won most of them!).
But they also taught me what it means to care, to protect, and to listen.
Being a big brother isn’t about bossing around (though I did a fair bit of that); it’s about knowing that there will always be people who look up to you, rely on you, and need you to be better.
And because of them, I tried.
Then Came My Wife – My Greatest Challenger and Ally
They say you don’t choose your family, but you do choose your partner. In my case, I hit the jackpot.
My wife is the most intelligent, the most graceful, and the most beautiful woman I know. But beyond that, she is my compass, my anchor, and my best critic.
She has always been there:
? When I needed support, she stood beside me.
? When I was being unreasonable, she challenged me.
? When life threw tough choices at us, she made them with me.
She carried and nurtured two champions (our son and daughter) and taught me what true strength looks like.
Then Came My Daughter – The One Who Inspires Me Daily
If my mother gave me strength, if my sisters gave me responsibility, and if my wife gave me wisdom, then my daughter gave me hope.
From the moment she was born, she has made me proud - not just for the things she has achieved (though she is an accomplished horse rider, a school prefect, and a diligent student) - but for the kind of person she is.
She reminds me daily that the world belongs to those who dare, who work hard, and who dream big.
The Everyday Presence of Women – The True Impact
The point is, the women in my life have not just shaped my career - they have shaped me. And their influence was not through grand, dramatic moments.
?? It was in the small, everyday actions.
?? In the quiet strength of being there.
?? In the way they made sure I was never alone in my journey.
There are many men who claim to have built their success on their own. But I have no such illusion. Every step I have taken, every milestone I have achieved, there has been a woman’s presence - guiding, supporting, challenging, and lifting me up.
And for that, I am grateful. Not just on Women’s Day, but every single day.
To the women in my life – thank you.
