• Mike Burch and Drew Bedard at Speedway Motorsports / RaceDay used Jon Parise 's Gigantik and their new rewards feature to offer an NFT bundle to mark the?Dover Wurth 400?— complete with a 1:64 die cast physical Race Weekend edition!
• Cata Labs raised $4.2M — led by Kelvin Koh + Spartan Group — to continue building Catalyst, a cross-chain bridge so blockchains can communicate easier with each other. (Way to go Jim Chang , Alexander Lindgren + team!)
• The NFL draft will feature AI artwork from Midjourney — and the draft picks posing with it! (Anyone else just really want to be at the Kelce Jam?) + the NFL also launched its first blockchain-backed mobile game with Mythical Games ! Way to go John Linden + team.
• A16z’s former CTO, Riyaz Faizullabhoy , and former CISO Nassim Eddequiouaq , are joining forces to start a crypto custody firm.
• DJs Steve Aoki and 3LAU revealed their first single as ‘Punx,’ an NFT duo — where they’ll share a percentage of music rights from the new song with 99 NFT collectors. (Grimes also tweeted that she’ll split 50% royalties on any successful AI-generated song that uses her voice. “Same deal as I would with any artist I collab with.”)
• Azeem Khan and Gitcoin announced a partnership with Coinbase to support policymaker education initiatives during this crucial time for innovation in our country.?For every shield minted, $1 will be contributed to the campaign.
• David Bland , Adam Olsen, Eric Parker , David Hurst , Ethan P. , and Brendan W. at Giddy are bringing crypto adoption to the masses through “recoverable self-custody smart wallet technology”… especially with their new round of $6.9M in funding, led by Pelion Venture Partners and Fortnite co-creator Geremy Mustard .
• Yogev Shelly ’s edtech platform TinyTap , acquired by Animoca Brands last year, just raised $8.5M to build on web3.
• Darshan Vaidya ’s Credora Network , a company bridging CeFi and DeFi, raised $6M led by S&P Global and Coinbase Ventures.
