Women on the Walls – hitting the shelves soon

Well, it's finally?here. Today we each received our advanced copy of "Women on the Walls:?Women as Subjects in Street Art Around the World."?My co-author?Robert?H. Mann and I are delighted to see the printed version of our book that started as an inspired?idea and evolved into a global project.

We would like to thank our publisher, Schiffer Publishing, for embracing our project and their continuing support.?Robert?and I also want to thank the hundreds of street artists, whose works of women on walls are nuanced and bold and go far beyond the concept of scrawled graffiti and pop-up culture.

The creativity and insights we found by speaking to the artists and photographing their work has revealed why women feature so prominently in wall art around the world.

We are going to donate a portion of the sales to women’s shelters that provide sanctuary and protection to abused women. Currently we are searching for an organisation where our donations will have an impact.
