So, what do you think?? What does it mean to be a valuable woman? What behaviors, character traits, and values do you admire in a woman? ?Your grandma couldn't own property, open her own bank account, have a credit card in her name, instigate a legal matter, or vote. She could get pregnant multiple times or be abused simply because she was a woman. Hundred years later much has not changed. Women are still living in personal dark holes that only they can see. For many their challenges has been a constant roller coaster, fighting against bad behavior and institutionalized discrimination, is a daily force to be dealt with. There has been an awakening for ?some women and men to have found the word, “No.” ?No more discrimination.
However, because of the courage of many trailblazers a shift has been demanded and expressed, and the oppressed have been heard. In addition, the cultural values are being redefined.?Which has allowed power to change hands.?Even with all these historical movements being a woman today is damn hard and confusing. Women are constantly bombarded by contradictory messages of what a woman is supposed to be. ?Society is constantly sending offending messages of inadequacy about their aging skin suggesting depreciations of life productivity, thinning hair, arms aren’t toned enough, their boobs aren’t big enough or sagging, they are not nice enough, too harsh, too indirect, too bossy, or too passive, waited too long to have kids, and gentle. sexy and motherly. They have all kinds of roles to fill: friend, lover, caretaker, sister, daughter, mother, housekeeper, doctor, counselor, chef, and banker. Unfortunately, society rewards for the appearance of being skinny, having youthful appearance, fair skinned, attractiveness which somehow becomes the source of power.
In addition they are also judged whether they want children and marriage or not, they have a certain window of time to make a career or family, and then they are expected to balance it all. ?WHY!? What is the reality of being a woman? ?What do you really think? What behaviors, character traits, and values do you admire in a woman? What does it mean to be a woman?? If you define what being a woman means today, you must know her value and how to value her worth. Society needs sheroes and their stories. Specifically, women’s stories. Society needs to continue to praise women who are excelling, especially in ways or fields that were not designed by the men. Most women are not famous today because what makes people famous today is based on the masculine choices. The limits of gender can be changed by honoring women by changing what you consider worthy of status, this will change the value of all females in their own individual lives. How can a young girl possibly have a female role model, when she doesn’t even have access to their stories? ?

Women, from the beginning of civilization, have been looked down upon by men. Some men today believe a woman has no right to pursue a career other than being a housewife and mother. ?Today’s women are confused. Some would like to have it all but are held back by their lack of either self-worth or a support system, as well as by historical prejudice. Others are afraid of asking for too much, losing love and respect because they will be viewed as aggressive and appear to be too strong?emotionally. Women are strong beings who have earned their rights to equality and respect. Women have and are continuing to be strong individuals that are and working towards equality and a better future by creating groups and social awareness to continue to break barriers. Throughout history, women have downplayed their own talents and needs to a male controlled society.
Overall, women have proved themselves in the past, in the present, and have the mindset to do so in the future. Whether or not change is in your future as a person, you should believe women can handle it. Women fights are full of difficulties, but worth fighting. If women of all ages and colors could help break glass ceilings together, they can push for success in everything they do. Women are thankful for the progress that has been made, and they look forward to working to continue their fight.
