Women in the Spotlight: Mandi Biring and Molly Guy
For International Women's Day 2022, we are dedicating the entire month of March to celebrating the women of CardioScan and their achievements.
Previously, Maggie Wen and Vicki Dove shared their experiences working into the exciting fields of Finance and Biomedical Engineering. In this instalment of Women in the Spotlight, let's get to know Mandi Biring and Molly Guy - two women who are carving their own paths and leaving a mark on the traditionally male-dominated world of Sales and Account Management.
For Mandi and Molly, a career in sales is immensely rewarding, not because of the high performance-based earning potential or the flexibility, but the opportunity to make a real, direct impact to their customers' businesses and build lasting relationships along the way.
"Having customers come up to me and expressing their satisfaction is the most fulfilling part of the job. Knowing that I'm able to leverage my skills and expertise to help organisations solve real world problems is really empowering," Molly shares.
Mandi shares the same sentiments. As Director of Hospital Services in the UK, one of her greatest accomplishments to date is the development and implementation of a remote service that enabled NHS hospitals to continue carrying out critical cardiac diagnostics amidst COVID-19.
"I'm proud that my team was able to navigate through the global pandemic and help ensure that NHS patients continue to have access to crucial cardiac diagnostics during the tough COVID-19 restrictions. Minimising the disruptions to vital functions saved lives, and I'm glad to have been part of this force for good," she says.
Both women attribute their successes to supportive co-workers and a workplace culture of inclusivity and innovation. Molly says, "At CardioScan, I'm empowered to take the lead and evolve my own role [as Account Manager]. Besides access to the tools and support I need to succeed, CardioScan offers equal opportunities for professional development. Most importantly, my voice is heard and I'm able to influence the way we work."

"Working with a talented global team and mentors who share their knowledge unreservedly in an environment that actively encourages innovation is truly inspiring," Mandi adds.
As someone in a top leadership position, Mandi is also very much aware of the power and responsibility that organisations and leaders have in shaping an equitable workplace and, by extension, a better world, which is why she refuses to take what she has for granted.
"Creating a world free of bias starts with recognising the role that corporations and business leaders can play in addressing gender discrimination in workplaces. Efforts such as thoughtfully developing diverse and inclusive teams that celebrate the uniqueness and value everyone can bring is important to build a more equal world for all," she reflects.??
Voices like Molly's and Mandi's remind us that we can, and have to, do better. We are thankful that they are part of the CardioScan team.
