Women at PCA: Morgan Haynes

Morgan Haynes joined Porsche Cars Australia with extensive experience in the luxury and lifestyle PR industry and has since gone on to expand her expertise into the broader Marketing Communications space, where she now holds the role of Marketing Communications Specialist.?

Haynes began her Porsche journey when she assumed the role of PR Assistant in February 2019. She then went on to be promoted to PR Coordinator, before joining the Marketing Communications team in September of last year.

While she never planned on a career in the automotive industry, Haynes is thrilled to work with the iconic brand to further the success of Porsche in Australia, and further strengthen the ties with our community of Porsche owners and enthusiasts.

“I studied PR and Communications at university and went on to work for an agency where events and PR were key to the job, so the early days of my career were hugely beneficial in setting me up with the skills required in my roles here at PCA,” says Morgan Haynes.

“I’ve applied a lot of that experience to what I do with Porsche. While I didn’t expect this to be where my career path would take me, I am absolutely thrilled to have stepped into the automotive industry. Working with the brand and the team we have here at PCA makes me so thankful to have ended up where I am today,” she says.?

As Marketing Communications Specialist, Haynes has two key areas of focus within the job – further elevating the brand through high-level marketing activity, whilst simultaneously supporting the retail focus of the Porsche Dealer Network.

From coordinating key sponsorship activity, to developing content and communications strategies and working closely with Dealers on local marketing planning and execution, the role includes a great deal of variety.

Haynes says Porsche’s introduction into the Australian fashion industry as the Official Automotive Sponsor for Australian Fashion Week 2022 has been a key highlight.

?“It was such a highlight for me to work closely with the team to leverage the success of Australian Fashion Week to create a strong presence for Porsche’s first all-electric sports car, the Taycan amongst the fashion industry leaders,” she says.

?“The partnership with Australian Fashion Week was a natural fit for the brand with the week consisting of cutting edge-design, innovation and a strong message of sustainability which are cores values for Porsche. Not to mention I had so much fun! Working with the Australian Fashion Week team to really bring to life the synergies between the two brands was a dream come true,” she says.

Having enjoyed a variety of roles over her three and a half years at PCA, Haynes strongly encourages more women to enter the automotive industry, who may not be aware of the breadth of opportunities it offers.

“In my time with the brand I have worked on incredible projects both in PR and Marketing, with true depth and variety. No two projects have been the same,” Haynes says.?

“I wouldn’t have had so much fun and got to where I am today without the support from the incredible women in leadership positions at PCA. It’s often a male dominated industry with many people unaware the exciting projects you can work on across brand, retail and communications.”

“I feel incredibly lucky to work for a brand that is supportive of my career progression and opens the door for new opportunities. I’m excited to see what the future brings in my role.”
