GARY, IN NATIVE MAKES HER MARK IN THE FILM INDUSTRY

Author, Screenwriter, and Producer TJ Chester conquers the odds

Gary, IN: In a world of advanced technology, almost anyone can make a film. The challenge is making a good one and then actually completing it. That is exactly what TJ Chester is in the process of doing. Ms. Chester was born and raised in Gary, Indiana where she currently resides. She is an urban fiction author and screenwriter who has earned her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts. She is the author of the Running with Wolves three-part series, Wallflower 1 & 2 and Effie and is currently directing her first feature film "Running With Wolves" inspired by her book series.

“I absolutely did not want to relocate, but I initially decided to move to Atlanta because that is where the industry is experiencing the most growth currently.” Ms. Chester sacrificed everything in taking a chance to move to an extremely competitive area with absolutely no contacts or resources. “I’ve been focused for the past three years on seeing this through to completion and I can finally see the light!” Those who have read her books are excited to see how they translate to the screen. This is urban drama of a different light, with many layers to each character.

A challenge awaits anyone, actor or otherwise, who is attempting to achieve success in the entertainment industry. Ms. Chester had to endure disappointment and pain just as anyone else. Additionally, she strove to maintain her integrity by not giving in to unwanted advances and empty promises just to see her dream come to life.
