Women In ....
Women in film, Women in digital, Women in (fill in your blank)
We spent years going shoulder to shoulder with our male counterparts to prove to them, and to ourselves, that we were equal. We wanted to be part of the community and we succeeded. Our numbers have grown and we've prospered right along with our male counterparts.
I'm a little confused at the number of "women in" events and groups sprouting up. Maybe I’m missing the point?
It feels like exclusivity – and isn’t exclusivity what we previously objected to when it was we who were being excluded? Dunno, maybe it’s a sales pitch or maybe I need enlightenment.
I don’t want to be a woman in, I just want to be in.
