Women Leading the Way in Public Health ??

In honour of International Women’s Day (March 8th), we’re giving a special shoutout to all the incredible women in public health leading the charge for a healthier, more equitable world! ??

Launching a career in global/public health comes with both excitement and challenges—especially for women. As the push for gender equity in leadership grows, there’s no better time to step up, break barriers, and lead change. Here’s how to get started:

Define Your "Why" – What drives you to work in global health? Understanding your passion and purpose will help shape your career decisions and motivate you through challenges.

Build the Right Skills & Experience – Whether through academic programs, fieldwork, or volunteering, hands-on experience is key. Remember, building a global public health career is a marathon, not a sprint—take your time and embrace every learning opportunity!

Find Mentorship & Community – Strong networks fuel success. Having a mentor and a supportive community—especially other women who have navigated similar challenges—can accelerate your growth and open new doors.

At the Public Health Career Club, we’re proud to have an incredible network of mentors—many of whom are inspiring women who have built impactful careers and are eager to help you do the same.
