A growing body of international research shows that presence of women on boards and in business leadership?has a positive?impact?on the management,?financial?and social?performance of companies.?

On?the eve of International Women’s Day, Diversity Hub HR Metrics publishes “Women Leaders for Board” Directory (WLB), 2nd?Edition.?To influence policies which reinforce women leaders, the 1st?Edition of?WLB Directory?was?presented in September 2022,?during a round table of board chairs and corporate leaders.?The 2nd?Edition, comprises?30 women?with diverse?experience and achievements worthy of?board?director?roles. It identifies?women of unique professional standing in C-suite?or currently in a board director role.?

Sustainable Development Goal 5 calls for gender equality. Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure frameworks?across the world emphasize?gender?equality to ensure long term sustainability of organizations, industries, economies and the world.

HR Metrics is managing “Women for Board Allies” initiative with the purpose to?provide an?advocacy?platform,?foridentifying, empowering?and?raising?awareness for Pakistani women leaders.?To?attain "top of mind" recall and encourage women leaders to aspire for?board positions;?The Directory is expected to offer opportunities for women leaders to network and develop mentors.?

The following eligibility criteria has been used for women inclusion in the directory:

·???????Skills relating to leadership, governance knowledge, profit and loss responsibility, board exposure, management experience and mentoring.?

·???????Specific?experiences like e-commerce, digital/technology, human resources, M&A, and marketing.

·???????Senior women with professional credentials from all sectors of business, industry, academia, and the civil society having at least 15 years of work experience.

·???????Women already serving in C-Suite roles and/or on boards.

·???????Pakistani?women having international experience.

Steering Committee "Women for Board Allies" played key role in developing criteria and screening candidates for directory.

Musharaf Hai former CEO Unilever and L'Oréal Pakistan (Chairperson Women for Board Allies), in her message said that achieving gender diversity in corporate boards is a journey, which requires not only firm support and collaboration from stakeholders, but most important, policies to accelerate and encourage women leaders in top leadership and board roles.?

Zahid Mubarik SHRM-SCP, SPHRi, GPHR CEO HR Metrics said that as organizations become increasingly agile in their business model, supply chains, shared services and operational processes; stakeholders need diversity, equity and inclusion to be integrated with business for sustainable outcomes.

Directory will be unveiled during a ceremony in Karachi on 6 March 2023.
