Women of the Future Newsletter
I would like to start this newsletter in the spirit of the new year with a message of hope for new beginnings. This month often provides us with an opportunity to take stock and appreciate all the many blessings we have been afforded.
?In many ways 2022 was a banner year for the Women of the Future Programme – it was a year in which we launched our first ever global programme – 50 Rising Stars in ESG and held our first in person Southeast Asia Women of the Future Awards in three years in Singapore.
?However, 2022 has not been a year without challenges – ?it was a year in which the values of kindness and friendship shone for me as brightly as they ever have.??So many of our sponsors and supporters overwhelmed me with their incredible generosity of spirit and commitment to our programmes.
?I cannot thank everyone enough for their amazing support during the challenging times I experienced at the end of last year. You have strengthened my faith in the human spirit and shown me the true meaning of friendship and kindness. There are far too many people to mention but I would particularly like to thank the sponsors of all our different programmes and initiatives for being there when we needed them the most! I would also like to express my deep appreciation to HRH The Countess of Wessex for her incredible support as our Global Ambassador and joining us for the Women of the Future Awards in November. Here is a short clip of Her Royal Highness at the Awards.
I wish everyone the greatest success for 2023!
As we enter our 24th year of the awards, we continue to shine a light on high achieving Asian women across in the UK with inspiring stories from a range of industries.
‘This award enables me to shine a light on the lack of BAME representatives in leadership, in technology. We have a very poor representation in tech and its time that we used this kind of opportunity to make way for the next generation’ – Jacqueline de Rojas, CBE. Winner of the Technology & Digital Award 2019
We encourage you to get involved and support by nominating somebody you know deserving of one of this year’s awards!

Deadline will be March 2023.
We were delighted to reunite in Singapore for Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia, sponsored by NTT, back in November, and what an incredible event it was!
The gala dinner welcomed over 300 guests to celebrate trailblazer’s across so many countries in the region. Featuring women at the very top of their field as well as rising stars, we are truly inspired by this year’s shortlist – click link here to view the 2022 winners and shortlist.
Prior to the dinner, we held a 2-day programme of events: our candidates, sponsors and partners gathered for a transformational leadership seminar with our education partners Said Business School, University of Oxford. As well as, a cocktail reception hosted by the British High Commission in Singapore to connect our Kindness and Leadership Leading Lights and 2022 shortlist.
Our inaugural Leading with Kindness lecture in partnership with The Oxford Character Project, was an uplifting day as we brought those of our community together to hear from HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan,?Jackie Scully MAC?and?Charlie Nunn.
‘They were inspiring and empowering, and yet so simple in their message: kindness is a choice, kindness can be currency, which enriches everyone and kindness should be consciously practised.’ – ??Kate Boguslawska, Partner at Carter Lemon Camerons LLP

On 9th November, we held our 17th Women of the Future Awards, sponsored by Aviva, at Hilton on Park Lane, and what a night it was! Every year, we are amazed by the common thread that holds our candidates together, determination for equality, mentoring and giving back – sharing the values that are so important to us at Women of the Future.
The talent of this year’s shortlist and the 15 award winners is simply phenomenal; these leaders of tomorrow with such inspirational stories and achievements made the judge’s decision very difficult!

We opened the London Stock Market to mark the announcement of the inaugural list of Women of the Future, 50 Rising Stars in ESG, in partnership with Tesco.
We were blown away by the nominations we received from all over the world, each women displayed real determination to make a real and tangible difference. From women working to protect human rights and combat gender-based violence to innovators seeking ways to eliminate plastic waste or drive key reforms in education, energy and infrastructure, this list celebrates the courage and commitment of female leaders who are taking action and changing the world.

The Women of the Future Summit was a day filled with making connections, building networks and being truly inspired.
From start to finish, the atmosphere was so uplifting! Delegates gathered for morning coffee before hearing insights from our speakers on their personal stories and leadership journeys. Followed by afternoon masterclasses on ‘purpose and resilience’ and ‘influence and compassion’ to leave food for thought and skills that are valuable to build and retain impact as a leader.
“It is really important we take a step back in our lives and really think about what matters to us: what our purpose is, why we exist and what gets us out of the bed in the morning. Event like this are designed to do exactly that.” – Jackie Scully, Executive Director, Think.
