Women in Engineering 2023 - Juliette Lebeurrier
Juliette Lebeurrier - Junior CO2 Market Analyst (VIE), Lhoist Group
What made you want to pursue a career in Engineering?
It is the diversity of assignments that may be available to me. As an engineer, I have to deal with several challenges, talk to people from other backgrounds, and apply the languages I have learned before…
"My job never falls into a routine or repetitive tasks."
What is your educational background? And your field of specialization?
I did Preparatory Classes before passing the national competitive exam to enter a French “Grande Ecole”. Then I went to an engineering school specializing in environmental chemistry and had the opportunity to do a semester abroad in Lisbon.
Can you share a project you did at Lhoist?
As a market analyst, I monitor different industry dynamics on CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage). I share them through a monthly newsletter to Lhoist recipients from all over the world.?
Have there been challenges on your path to becoming an engineer which you faced due to being a woman? And how have you overcome these?
As an engineering student, I am most of the time working in male-dominated surroundings, but I do not feel this hindered my educational development.?
What advice would you give someone wanting to get into engineering or completing those qualifications?
I recommend pursuing your interests and doing projects that you are excited about.
"Don’t hesitate to talk with engineers who can share their experiences as tasks can be completely different from one field to another."
