We are welcomed in the Center for Architecture where the DESIGN PHILADELPHIA stand also

100 participating experienced designers and leaders in their field to recently graduated students with researchers and educators in industrial design from all over the USA The opportunity to combine perspectives from the various fields of design, to share testimony of the profound transformation in which the profession is engaged as well as to understand and analyze together the obstacles to the recognition of design in the economy as well as the difficulty that Today, there is still room to recognize the value of women in this field
The opportunity to take stock of the impact of AI and the sharing of uses, new practices which are now common on a daily basis in design studios addicted to the country This was an opportunity for me to share my commitment to scientifically augmented design and to share the tooled method of the DS design studio The reception was good, particularly among young people who see, with design and design research methods used via digital twins, a future with ethical and transformative proposals for the economy, but especially for society. Some highlights > Feedback was given on the women who counted for the design And there is still a form of invisibility of which women in design are always the object. This meeting was an opportunity to revisit the reasons and opportunities for improving the situation More and more women are getting involved in industrial design in Bachelor and Master Studies (+51%), yet very few access leadership positions 9%


Science alongside design has made its way and young designers are ready to engage with “informed” and scientific tools such as systems or simulation approaches which are “natural” for designers and this without seeking intuitiveness or user experience which was the key until now Indeed the desire to have an impact and solve problems and to embrace complexity in depth makes current modeling tools obsolete (SolidWorks, Rhino, Alias) and are challenged by combined approaches to the use of different tools. of A.I but above all by access to engineering tools made accessible to designers to take the route of controlling the design process “end to end” And this for a simple ambition to act within the scope of machinability and circularity Virtual twin is a new approach which arouses great interest provided that the links between the different tools and methods are developed, which will not fail to initiate new research in the field of creating informed tools. New friends and a maturing sisterhood: we promised each other inter mentorship and inter coaching We wonder why it took so long to realize that women matter, including in the field of design.
