A big thing in sales is that the person who’s on the other end of the call with us receives what we’re giving out energy-wise. Regardless of how comfortable you are in a sales environment, you need to show up with the energy that you want them to receive.
One of the ways to visualise this is to think about a spotlight. When my children are talking, they’re literally waiting for each other, or me, to stop speaking so that they can talk. So they always want the spotlight on them. That’s the opposite of the experience you want your clients to have. During a sales call, you want the spotlight to shine completely on the client.
That first meeting is like an audition. If you’ve ever hired someone for your team and during the interview you feel they’re not trying, even on that first encounter, that counts for a lot.?
I know that you want to show up in a certain way and convey authority. You want to show your expertise and that you can help your client. But it’s not just a case of showing up with the energy of ‘this is me at my best’. You need to be showing up with the spotlight fully on them. If you listen and you connect with them, you will come across in the right way.?
If you’d like to close more sales calls, then my guest on the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast this week is Connie Whitman and she is sharing her 5 step process to remove objections during sales conversations. Listening to this is 30 minutes well spent!

Free Report - The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Consulting Business
I've created a free PDF report called The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business.?It’s my most popular free resource and in it I outline the 6 areas of unscaled businesses that need to change in order to move past being ‘booked up and burned out’ and shifting into that higher gear that gets you cruising again.
It’s the framework that helps consultant women like you find their feet and get back to leading the business, rather than being buried in client work and back-end business operations.

I actually really enjoy sales calls. I approach them as an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to each decide if it's a good fit. To prep for them, I review the form they filled out, their website so that I can better understand their business, and since I help my clients with ConvertKit, I fill out their opt-in form so I can see what the process is like for new subscribers (and give some feedback during our call if they consent).
