What attracted you to the construction industry and how did you get started?

I entered the construction industry by happenstance.?I was recruited out of college into the industrial equipment business.? From there I began to build my network and was approached by Steve Sisco from MSS.?I studied marketing and international business in college, but I knew I wanted to work with people in the field.?

What is your favorite part about working in the construction industry?

I enjoy helping customers solve ever-changing problems. My job requires a level of creativity that keeps our team engaged, daily.? The fact that I work in a predominately male business adds additional motivation, and I feel my unique perspective helps us find the best solutions for our customers.?

In your opinion, what impact do/can women have in the construction industry?

Having women in the construction industry is incredibly valuable. As in most industries, a diverse team provides the best platform to drive creative and unique solutions. If my background can help improve the outcomes for our customers, everyone wins.?

What advice would you give to young women just starting their careers in the construction industry?

This is not particular to the construction industry, so my main advice is to find something you enjoy doing, every day. Spend some time to think about and understand your skill set. What are you good at? What motivates you? What makes you get up in the morning? The construction industry, and the trades in general have all kinds of opportunities, not just for women.? ?
