2023 KangaNews-Westpac Corporate Debt Summit

Yesterday WiBF CEO, Stephanie Girard and WiBF Business Development, Lisa Wallis were honoured to attend the 2023 KangaNews - Westpac Corporate Debt Summit at the esteemed Hilton in Sydney with over 600 guests.

The event brought together top executives, experts, and professionals from the corporate banking and finance world. The summit, hosted by KangaNews and sponsored by Westpac, offered a platform for in-depth discussions on critical banking and financial matters and economic outlook.

The summit kicked off with Nell Hutton , Chief Executive of Westpac Institutional Bank , delivering the opening address, followed by Luci Ellis , Chief Economist at Westpac Institutional Bank , providing a comprehensive economic update and outlook.

One of the day's highlights was the CEO's roundtable, a panel discussion featuring top industry leaders, including Kelly Bayer Rosmarin (Chief Executive, Optus ), Sean Bilton (Chief Executive and Managing Director, Estia Health ), Andrew Harding (Managing Director and Chief Executive, Aurizon ), and Matthew Adcock (Principal, Blackstone ). The panel delved into topics such as belt-tightening, business performance, soft landings, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the changing business landscape.

The summit featured a series of engaging panel discussions throughout the day, delving into critical subjects such as price discovery and liquidity assumptions, the effective implementation of sustainable finance in transition, and a deep dive into credit quality and asset performance. The event reached its conclusion with an informative Q&A session.

The KangaNews-Westpac Corporate Debt Summit 2023 served as an invaluable forum where industry leaders shared insights and strategies for navigating the ever-evolving financial landscape. We express our gratitude to KangaNews and Westpac for allowing WiBF to be part of this enriching experience.

Congratulations to our 2023 second cohort graduates of WiBF’s Workplace Wellbeing & Flourishing Leadership Program.

Please join us in congratulating the 96 attendees who recently completed the program.

This WiBF program covers the latest science and practice on 27 core aspects leaders need for career success including: building confidence, personal branding, mentors and sponsors, wellbeing and authentic leadership. The program received resounding praise from its graduates, with numerous attendees sharing their transformative experiences:

“It was a great experience to be part of WIBF Wellbeing & Flourishing Leadership program and I can definitely say that this program is one of the most transformative experiences I’ve had to date. I got tremendous value from this program and gain a lot of new insights. Andrew Rooke is an amazing coach/facilitator and helped explain the different concepts really well. I’ve learned a lot just by listening but even more so when I got to interact and hear from other participants. A lot of the participants were genuinely open in sharing their thoughts, opinions and experiences. Thank you WIBF and Andrew for this opportunity and looking forward to joining your other programs in the future.”

"I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience I had as part of your program. It truly was a blast, and I can't thank you and the entire team enough for the transformative journey you've guided us through. I'm excited to apply the knowledge and insights gained for mastering our minds, nurturing self-growth, and becoming integral leaders in my daily practice. Once again, thank you for your guidance and support throughout this journey."

"I honestly feel sad when I think that tomorrow’s session is our last in this program. The program felt like a journey. I am grateful I was given the opportunity to meet you and learn from you. It’s been eye-opening and liberating, the things you’ve shared made me feel different about myself and how I perceive things, you have given key pieces of the puzzle which helps see a bigger picture. Thank you for providing practical tools which I know are powerful and that I will definitely use for my personal development and also try with the team."

WiBF's Workplace Wellbeing & Flourishing Leadership Program continues to empower leaders with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their careers and make a positive impact on their organisations.

Congratulations once again to the graduates!

Want to improve your recruitment strategy?

Skill-based recruiting is a hiring method that focuses on a candidate's skills and abilities rather than their background, education or past work experience. This approach enables organisations to identify and hire candidates based on their ability to perform the job, rather than what is outlined on their resume.

The dangerous cultural messages about getting older, by Stephanie Burns

Perhaps it is time we stopped blaming our age, not everything is about aging.

Stephanie Burns’ new book will take you down a path of exploring, what is a significantly bad feature of the world we occupy: The negative messages we are surrounded by about aging. Messages that can seep in, take root and solidify.

This book is not about getting motivated. It is not about willpower. It is not about simply thinking positively. What it is about, is your ability to walk a legitimate path to real change. Available on Amazon.
