Is there a woman on your IT team you want to support?

IT Executive Advisory - Helping IT leaders achieve business results through effective leadership capabilities
Women make up 47% of all employed adults in the U.S., but as of the end of 2020, hold only 25% of computing roles, according to data from the?National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). Of the 25% of women working in Tech, Asian women make up just 7% of that number, while Black and Hispanic women account for 3% and 2%, respectively. Even though the growth of technology jobs has outpaced the growth of overall employment in the country, IT remains underrepresented in other job clusters such as the physical sciences, computing, and engineering, according to data from?Pew Research Center. The current technology worker shortage further amplifies the requirement to support women in IT. Despite national conversations about the need for diversity in tech and the increase in work opportunities, women are still disproportionally missing out on this boom.
Women must advocate for themselves if they want to move their careers forward. But to succeed, they can't go it alone. They need their leaders’ advocacy and support, they need equal access to opportunity, and they need a safe environment of trusted peers.
The latter point is the rub. Many women in IT organizations have very few to no female peers. While male peers are truly appreciated and valued for sharing technical or functional advice, it is unfeasible to assume they understand all the nuances of what it means to be a woman in IT or a working mom. Thus, the reason I created ITeffectivity's IT Women's Mastermind Group.
What is a Mastermind Group?
The definition of a?mastermind?group?is straightforward: a?group?of peers who meet to provide advice and learn from each other. The core?value?of?a?Mastermind?Group?is the synergy of energy, motivation, commitment, and the willingness to learn and grow together. The ITeffectivity IT Women Mastermind Group program was purposefully designed to provide women with access to peer coaching from other like-minded women. Successful former CIOs who facilitate the mastermind group add a valuable layer of executive coaching to the sessions.
So I ask, is there a woman on your IT team you want to support in their career growth, retention, and job satisfaction??If so, I encourage you to listen to the women who invested in an earlier IT Women Mastermind Group share the value they found from participating.??
There is a new cohort scheduled to start in late October. Each cohort is capped at 6-8 participants for a more personalized focus and priced to be accessible. Set up a complimentary live discovery call?to learn more!
