Hey there, fellow adventurers of life,
So, here’s the deal. Nearly a decade ago, the soundtrack in my house dropped to a whisper when I joined the “Empty Nesters Club.” It was like hopping on an emotional roller coaster – feeling ecstatic and teary-eyed, all at once! Just imagine - over two decades with buzzing energy at home, cheer practice, proms and then poof, silence. It’s a mix of ‘Home Alone’ vibes with a dash of ‘Eat Pray Love’.
Now, here’s the twist in my tale. Alongside the echoes of an empty home, I found myself grappling with a new chronic illness. There were moments when my spirits were sunken, and I felt trapped in the maze of my health issues.
?That’s when the universe whispered, “Reach out!” And, my life pivoted as I turned to a life coach. In that blurry phase, their guidance was the beacon I never knew I needed. From that dimmed corner, I watched in awe as my life took on a vibrant hue of transformation. It got me so jazzed that, after rocking the fitness world for 23 years, I took a leap and dived into becoming a life coach! I'm four years into my life coaching business, and the journey’s been nothing short of magical.
So, as one who’s been through the tumbles and twirls, here are my two cents (or maybe five) for those sailing the same boat:
1. Reconnect: That person you’ve been sharing space with? Your partner, your best friend, or maybe your own reflection? It’s time to dance to the old tunes and discover some new ones together.
2. Rediscover YOU: Lost in the roles of being a parent? Time to dust off that journal or perhaps embrace the stillness with yoga and meditation. Heck, a chat with a life coach might just be the revelation you’re waiting for (it sure was for me!).
3. Unleash the Fun: Now’s the time! Get those dancing shoes out, book that pottery class, or plan that spontaneous getaway. With newfound time, the world’s your oyster.
4. Tech to the Rescue: Your little birdies might have flown the nest, but with a click, they’re right there! Dive into the digital world – share a laugh, crack a puzzle or just send a virtual hug.
5. Craft New Traditions: Brainstorm fun ways to reunite. Maybe it’s a yearly fam-jam getaway or whipping up their favorite dish when they pop by.

Remember, as daunting as this ‘new normal’ might seem, it’s just life’s cheeky way of shuffling the deck. It’s both wondrous and wonky! And, while adopting a new fur buddy might seem tempting, first, cherish the quiet.
Embrace change. Grow. Shine. Let the magic unfold.
P.S. Here's a another "cent" on enjoy the quiet...( My husband and I just adopted a rescue pup after losing 2 dogs this last year...We forgot how much work a puppy really is! Well, I've called a trainer and help is on the way. Wish me luck!)
Stay spirited and keep shining,
Laura
