A chat with Faye France of Footfall and her colleagues on International Womens’ Day.

Who is the woman you most admire?

Apart from my mum, it’s Eleanor Roosevelt – that’s one of her sayings above. She also said “No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent” and that was quite advanced at the time. It seems that only recently are women in every part of the world catching up with Eleanor’s thinking and refusing to give their consent!

Are you proud to be part of the Footfall team?

Yes. Footfall really understands work-life balance and I feel valued and very supported here.

Footfall has a strong focus on sustainability. Does this resonate with you?

I believe in the 3 R’s – Reduce, Re-use, Recycle and so does Footfall. I’m very conscious of global warming, especially having children, as they ask hard questions of us adults! As a family, we have made changes in our lives and within our home to be more sustainable.

Who is the woman you most admire?

I admire Mother Theresa – she was strong and totally selfless – qualities that every human being should strive for, I believe.

Are you proud to be part of the Footfall team?

Working at Footfall is like being part of a big family. My boss and my colleagues are really supportive and are always ready to help with problems, whether at work or at home.

Footfall has a strong focus on sustainability. Does this resonate with you?

I work in the reclaim section at Footfall, where we repair and re-use our products, which are made from recycled raw materials. I think sustainability becomes more and more important every year and I’m proud that we use recycled materials like tyres, PET bottle plastic and cork for our underlays.

Who is the woman you most admire?

I really admire Angela Merkel. She is a strong, independent woman who is widely respected and has helped to make Germany one of the world’s most powerful countries. I’m half German!

Are you proud to be part of the Footfall team?

I love working at Footfall because it’s one big family – so friendly, so supportive and so understanding.

Footfall has a strong focus on sustainability. Does this resonate with you?

Also, I strongly support Footfall’s concern for the environment. I believe in recycling and teach my children at home how important it is to be aware of emissions and global warming.
