Woman Exemplar Award 2024: Celebrate and Elevate Grassroots Changemakers who #LeadLikeANaari!

Ever met a grassroots woman mired in poverty, crushed by social norms, denied education and the ability to voice her opinion, yet determined to fight for her rights and her identity to #LeadLikeANaari?

Women who have a steely resolve to improve their lives and emerge as leaders in their community, transforming the lives of others, embody the spirit of a CII Foundation Woman Exemplar.

The journey of these grassroots women leaders represents more than just stories; they signify movements that have catalyzed community transformation and inspired many.

We are here to share such stories – stories of remarkable women effecting substantial change within their communities. Let us share a few glimpses. One Exemplar has been instrumental in educating the Nat community to eradicate the forced sex trade, another utilizes theatre to address gender issues, and yet another aids women farmers in combating drought through the innovative 'one-acre model'. These snippets offer a peek into a world where challenges are transformed into opportunities.

We are also inspired by their extensive geographical outreach - from the icy landscapes of Lahaul & Spiti to the verdant expanses of Aizawl -these women are fostering change from the grassroots.

Now, we reach out to you to take more such grassroots women under our wing. The CII Foundation Woman Exemplar Program has opened nominations for the Woman Exemplar Award 2024. We cordially invite NGOs, CSR wings of companies, and government officials to actively participate by nominating women who have been making silent yet significant contributions at the grassroots level in the fields of Education, Health and Micro-enterprise.
