Wolf’s Edge - Survival Thriller Graphic Novel hits SXSW

I just walked away from an electrifying event at SXSW on March 9, 2025, and I’m still buzzing from what I witnessed: Skye Wallin unveiling his latest project, Wolf’s Edge. As a longtime fan of Skye’s storytelling—someone who’s followed his journey from the START (LITERALLY), his imaginative short films like The Adventures of Sam Wolf to the thought-provoking American Gadfly—this felt like a front-row seat to a creative leap that’s as bold as it is inspiring. And trust me, you’ll want to pay attention to this one.

Wolf’s Edge isn’t just another project; it’s a hand-drawn graphic novel that’s equal parts survival thriller and emotional gut-punch, written by Skye himself with his collaborator Gabor and brought to life by the jaw-dropping artistry of Artúr Várai. Three issues, will roll out as a complete anthology, with every panel dripping with intensity, drama and personal transcendence. But what hit me hardest at SXSW was hearing Skye call this the “kickoff for the Sam Wolf world.” If we’ve seen in his short films, you know Sam Wolf is more than a character—he’s a vessel for raw, universal themes about imagination, rejection, and those make-or-break moments in life. Now, he’s stepping into a new dimension, and here’s the kicker: Skye shared that this graphic novel is paving the way for the first of his feature films around this storyline. That’s a vision worth getting excited about.

What makes this so compelling is the stakes. Skye’s not just dipping his toes into graphic novels; he’s diving in headfirst, with a Kickstarter campaign live for sign-ups (full launch in April 202). At the event, he said it himself: “bringing Sam’s world to life has been my muse for years and this iteration has turned my thought forms into reality.” That kind of passion—the kind that risks everything for a vision—is rare, and it’s one reason I’ve been a supporter of his work for years.

As someone who values innovation and storytelling in business and art, I can’t recommend enough that you check out Wolf’s Edge. Head to the KickWolf’s Edge on Kickstarter starter, sign up, and see where Skye’s taking us next—first through this graphic novel, then onto the big screen. This is a creator betting on his craft and inviting us along for the ride. I’m backing it, and I hope you will too.

Michael Amato, a seasoned film producer, has collaborated with Skye Wallin and Gabor on projects like Death of Sam Wolf (2020) and The Adventures of Sam Wolf (2015), bolstering Wallin’s Wolf’s Edge vision. With credits including production management on Fantastic Four (2005) and producing Lifetime films like A Mother’s Revenge (2016) and Death Clique (2014), Amato brings a wealth of experience to the trio’s creative synergy.

As Skye said “In April, presales for my first book/graphic novel go live. Wolf's Edge is the culmination of 15 years of work -- and it's frickin' cool. Hand-drawn survival thriller. Please sign up to lock in a discount and join the community”
