Wolfpack Information Risk has, through its subsidiary, Alert Africa, launched

The Cybercrime Operational Behaviour Response Alliance (COBRA)

COBRA wishes to bridge the gap between cyber investigators and victims of cybercrime:

Cyber Investigators

? Platform: Establishes and manages the platform to allow like-minded individuals, passionate about tackling cybercrime, to collaborate.

? Integrity: Establishes a vetting process and code of ethics to only allow access to eligible investigators in order to protect the integrity of the environment.

? Skills: Provides industry-approved cyber investigation and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) online training programmes at different levels, with testing, to ensure the investigators are both equipped and competent.

Victims of cybercrime

? Platform: Victims would be able to log their case via the central Alert Africa platform, be allocated a tracking number and be able to read about different types of cybercrime on the site.

? Confidentiality: COBRA admins will then obfuscate the victim's sensitive personal information and provide their case file to a cyber investigator/s – who will then provide free assistance to the victim up to the agreed service level.

Value Proposition

? For small business owners, schools, NGOs or individuals who are victims of cyber scams or cyberbullying in South Africa

? COBRA provides a community service to assist victims of cybercrime in understanding how the incident took place, how to secure themselves from future attacks and obtain possible justice through their case being investigated by trained investigators instead of simply feeling helpless and not doing anything about the incident, allowing cybercriminals to become more brazen in their targeting of SA citizens – getting away with murder.

? Each case investigated generates actionable intelligence and statistics that will make a difference in the fight against cybercrime in SA.
