The number “51” is synonymous with Las Vegas and Nevada. Sadly, for the second consecutive year the Silver State ranked number 51 out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia in Education Week magazine’s Quality Counts report, frequently used as a national comparison for the quality of public education in each state. Shockingly, the state earned an overall grade of D — below the country’s national C grade, for the second consecutive year. Massachusetts and New Jersey hold the top rankings with a B- While Nevada raked dead last. In today’s fast paced world, it is quite evident that traditional methods of education simply don’t work. The numbers speak for themselves. The United States, one the leading super power of the world now ranks sheepishly with an overall grade of “C” in education. It’s plain to see that the future of our country is in serious trouble. The need of new, innovative solutions that will harness today’s technology is more than obvious.

The Wobworld Experience begins with the Wobworld TV program. Each episode will stimulate early learning skills while promoting socially accepted behavior. The program also illustrates several ways to build self-confidence to embrace, and deal with life’s many challenges. Wobworld provides children (ages 2 through 6) and their parents with an innovative multi-media experience that brings together next generation education products across traditional and interactive platforms. The educational platform of Wobworld was designed by a team of licensed educators and certified child psychologists.

The core cast of Wobworld features the always lovable and curious Wob; Dr. Fooie, Wobworld’s creator and sometimes zany scientist; Magic the Cat, a parental figure to the Wob who will teach you about eating right and social skills; and Chepi The Signing Chimp, he will be seen in the corner of every TV screen and will be available on the website translating in sign language for the deaf and hard of hearing viewers.

The second phase of the Wobworld Experience is the interactive website. Where the television program ends, the website continues. The website is completely interactive. Children travel to Wobworld and its many cities. Within these cities, there are many buildings. Once logged in, you have access to hours of edu-cational content within each building. For example, our first city, WobFalls in Wobworld, houses 13 buildings, one of them being a bank. Kids can visit and learn the benefits of earning, counting and sav-ing money through good grades and chores. Another example, our good-manners cat, Magic, invites children into her home where children can select a book and read together with Magic.

Wobworld the Television show and the interactive Wobworld website come alive at the Wobworld Learning Center. This complex is an extension of the Corporate Office located in Las Vegas. The brightly colored, learning center is a state-of-the-art multimedia center that employs the latest in technology (iPads, monitors, computer terminals and a Bose sound system). The center has separate rooms for ages 2 years old; 3-4 years old; and 5-6 years old, to accommodate the different levels of learning.

There is also a section for children with special needs. In addition, children who are deaf or hard of hearing can learn American Sign Language at the center also we provide reading to the blind and we also teach braille to children who are blind. Children will also learn acceptable social behavior and how to work together as a group.

Nevada families need access to affordable child care and preschool to support working parents and to ensure that children start kindergarten ready to learn. The Wobworld Learning Center, which is in alignment with STEAM, has the necessary resources to help children to get off to a great start.

The educational-scientific rationale behind Wobworld has a high potential to enhance students’ understanding and learning motivation, while being grounded in the national educational learning outcomes associated with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) in schools. Wobworld provides a multimedia platform for children to explore these critical subject areas in a way that scaffolds the learning and makes thinking visible. Educator resources allow teachers to harness the powerful attachment children form with the Wob and Friends to support them in facilitating highly engaging instructional lessons and assessments through the Wobworld digital learning campus.

STEAM standards demand high levels of inquiry-based learning focused on the five disciplines used in everyday activities, which promote problem solving, and creative and analytical thinking. Each STEAM discipline is introduced in Wobworld, from life and natural sciences, exploring coding, robotics, and mathematical practices, while simultaneously integrating arts education through song and dance.

Early Learning Fosters Economic Growth

Social emotional learning (SEL) is the cornerstone of early childhood education and builds the foundation for young learners to develop the five core behavioral competencies that strengthen their academic potential. Wobworld’s programming and curriculum incorporate these critical competencies, including self- awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Wobworld partners with schools that are increasingly focusing on developing SEL programming as research highlights the positive relationship of SEL to academic success.

Wobworld is innovative in educational programming, aligning both the academic and behavioral standards of public education with the weekly content of programming. Wobworld offers a promising program that can bridge the learning between home and school, supporting the key readiness skills that children are expected to master in school.

Wobworld’s digital learning campuses are exciting places where children’s imaginations are ignited to explore scientific and technological phenomena, while integrating real life math skills and creative multi-modality artistic expressions (dance, movement, vocal music, and more.)

Animation supports a creation of mental representations of phenomena, promoting better understanding. Computer animation is highly effective in demonstration of processes that cannot be viewed naturally or that are difficult to demonstrate in the classroom or even in the laboratory (Fleming, Hart, & Savage, 2000). Children’s attachment to the loveable Wob allow them to take risks with exploring new concepts, feeling supported and guided in asking questions, making mistakes, and interacting with others.

Las Vegas Families Need Access to High Quality Child Care and Preschool

Las Vegas families need access to affordable child care and preschool to support working parents and to ensure that children start kindergarten ready to learn. During the first five years of life, children learn critical skills such as language and socio-emotional regulation, which provide a foundation for lifelong learning. High quality preschool and child care can support healthy development and enable parents to work. Unfortunately, too many children are left behind by the status quo. In fact, differences in children’s cognitive abilities by income are evident at only 9 months old and significantly widen by the time children are age 2. Early learning has positive impacts for children, families, and the economy. There are 224,841 children under age 6, 65% of whom have all available parents in the workforce.

High quality child care and preschool programs help narrow school readiness gaps, which is particularly important for children of color and those living in low-income families. 36% of Nevada children under age 6 live in low-income families.

The Cost of Child Care Is Out of Reach for Families

Annual costs at a child care center in Nevada average $19,085 for an infant and a 4-yearold, which is 34% of the median income for families with children. For low-income families and people of color, the average cost of child care would constitute most of the income in most cases. In Nevada, only 5% of 3-year-olds and 8% of 4-year-olds are enrolled in a public preschool program. Wobworld is a nonprofit corporation can offer its services to the community at a considerably more affordable rate.

WOBWORLD NONPROFIT CORPORATION

The Las Vegas Review Journal recently reported that major Las Vegas Strip resorts saw net income triple in 2017. Casino resorts collected $26.2 billion in revenue statewide in the 2017 fiscal year. With numbers like these you would think that funding for a nonprofit corporation such as Wobworld would be a slam dunk but sadly this is not the case.

Wobworld is currently in negotiations with Wells Fargo Bank for funding. However, corporations, foundations, businesses, or individuals can make a tax-deductible donation to help support the future of the education for our children, please contact us immediately. At present, we have more than enough material for the first and second season of the Wobworld animated TV show, and we are ready to go into production. Our efforts to reach educators to register with us has been overwhelmingly successful, despite the summer vacation. All donations will be recognized during the broadcast of the Television Show and a tribute plaque posted in the lobby of the Wobworld Learning Center To make a donation please contact Rosalind Goly, CEO at 310-923-2911 or by email at [email protected], Sam Stevens, President at 702-624-2160, email: [email protected]
