Wk 26Mar-01 Apr, Enterprise Connect was all about LLM G.AI and key updates in the DEX space

Hi all,

Here I am again with the latest updates in the world of #digitalworkplace #futureofwork for the past week.

The week that just passed was so full of action; I attended some APAC strategy briefings with 微软 , participated in the virtual edition of the Enterprise Connect event, and made note of some key updates in the DEX space. So let's dive in!

  1. End User Computing

(i) Leostream Corporation , well-known for its connection broker solution, announced integration with Amazon Workspaces Core. Clients leveraging VMWare on-premise hypervisors who want to transition to the cloud at their own pace can now use the Leostream broker to manage the entire VDI Desktop-as-a-Service environment.

More details here: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/leostream-announces-seamless-hybrid-cloud-125500481.html

As Amazon Workspaces Core tries to gain the market, especially in the not-so-Microsoft dependent environment, and still has an on-premise dependency, it can leverage the unique solution from Leostream.

(ii) Lakeside Software announced updates to its #DEX platform, including insights into actual monetary savings and impacts because of IT issues. More details here: https://www.lakesidesoftware.com/news/understand-productivty-costs-with-executive-insights/

Translating the insights and actionable insights into real business benefits is the ideal goal of DEX and #EUEM solutions; these updates are in the same direction.

(iii) On a similar line as above, Login VSI announced updates to its platform with analysis around cost savings and capacity planning for the virtual desktop and application environment. More details here: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/login-vsi-launches-login-enterprise-5-0-introduces-powerful-dashboards-for-cost-and-capacity-tracking-301786357.html

VDI and DaaS deployment complexities are getting simplified, and it's the perfect time to widely adopt solutions that can provide predictive analytics on cost implications for planned workloads.

(iv) Nexthink partnered with Core42 , a UAE-based digital transformation service provider, enhancing its regional presence. More details here: https://www.zawya.com/en/business/technology-and-telecom/injazat-partners-with-nexthink-to-enable-smart-digital-workplaces-in-the-region-hxg3y87p

Service providers targeting clients in the region can benefit from this partnership as Injazat offers in-region professional services that can assist in tech adoption, one of the key challenges in DEX and other workplace transformation initiatives.

2. UCaaS

Last week was the #enterpriseconnect2023 or #enterprisecon global conference about everything to do in the #UCaaS and #CCaaS space. I attended the event virtually, and the sessions were very engaging. The whole event was flooded with talks and demos around #generativeAI and #LLM, with #ChatGPT as the hottest topic. Here are some key updates:

(i) Apart from its #copilot announcement recently, 微软 unveiled a new and faster version of #MSTeams. Several announcements here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-teams-at-enterprise-connect-2023/ba-p/3774374

So many things to talk about here, but the key highlight for me was a multi-tenant version of Teams allowing you to use Teams with multiple accounts in different windows, announcing a collaboration with Cisco devices, click to call feature to support CS initiatives, and hotdesking using QR codes.

(ii) 思科 also announced several updates to its Webex platform. More details here: https://newsroom.cisco.com/c/r/newsroom/en/us/a/y2023/m03/cisco-powers-unrivaled-hybrid-work-experiences-with-purpose-built-ai-innovations-in-webex.html

For me, the most exciting part was rendering the video feed to high quality on the endpoint, leveraging AI even when the transmitting network speed is slow, and creating cinematic meeting experiences. Live note-taking and meeting summary was something everyone announced.

(iii) RingCentral also announced several features, most notably "Ring Sense," details of which can be found here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20230327005272/en/Introducing-RingSense-by-RingCentral-A-Ground-Breaking-AI-Platform-for-Enhanced-Business-Communications

While right now launched for only the Sales function, Ring Sense leverages AI to use immense data and information available in different enterprise business functions. I can't wait to see its application in the employee experience space! I also liked the traditional Push to Talk feature implemented in the existing smartphones leveraging RingCentral solution specially designed for frontline workers.

(iv) Zoom , too, had an excellent presentation and announced many things; more details here: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2023/03/27/2634719/0/en/Zoom-announces-the-expansion-of-Zoom-IQ-the-smart-companion-that-empowers-collaboration-and-unlocks-potential.html

Its ZoomIQ leverages Generative AI to empower not just the Sales function but also its own email calendar apps, which it announced last year. Its calendar app also integrates with Google and Microsoft. I really liked the Intelligent Director solution that can intelligently detect people's movement in a video meeting and capture each individually.

In addition, many vendors announced multiple updates, including Google, Amazon, BlueJeans, etc.

3. ISG launches its 2023 Future of Work study

ISG (Information Services Group) has just launched its 2023 #isgproviderlens study for the Future of Work. We will release two studies with multiple areas for service provider comparisons this year.

  • Future of Work services 2023: will compare managed service providers that provide EX transformation, managed end-user technology services, and digital service desk and workplace support services. 4. Productivity, Collaboration for SMBs.

The solutions study brochure is here: https://isg-one.com/docs/default-source/2023-ipl-brochures/fow-solutions---brochure%28global%29-2023.pdf

Please let me know if your firm offers any of the above services and/or solutions and has not already been invited by ISG.

I hope you liked this edition. I hope to write one next week as well. Please share with me anything you think I missed and your PoVs as well.

I am looking forward to your feedback!
