The kangaroo whisperer
4 年Walter might I ask what is meant by the term " sanctification" in this person's article.
The kangaroo whisperer
4 年Clarifying terms always helps clear up at least some misunderstandings. If your view of the word SANCTIFICATION is limited to being perfect as Jesus is perfect as some hold, then it stands in stark contrast to the full biblical meaning. Firstly we are sanctified in that we are sanctified or "set apart for holy use" in exactly the same way the vessels in the temple were sanctified, being set aside for holy use. This is one of the meanings of the English word sanctification when you study the Greek. The other meaning and most common meaning is to be made holy. This is the process of being made holy so we take on the full character of Christ at the end of the process. It is not the instantaneous EVENT, as it is in being "set aside" which is its first meaning. To clarify, yes we are sanctified, because we have been set aside after justification, but we then are being sanctified as we continue in the process of obedience by dying to self. As we allow the carnal nature to be put to death, the new man in Christ, which is a baby to start of with spiritually speaking, can then grow, in reality to take on more and more of the divine nature. So, why not have a look at the Greek for the word sanitisation?
