Witness Addresses Needed For Recorded Documents

Selected legislation was passed during the Florida 2023 Regular Session that may impact signing agents. FS § 695.26 was amended to require that the post office address of all witnesses be legibly printed, typewritten, or stamped in any recorded instrument which serves to convey, assign, encumber or otherwise dispose of the property.? This adds to the existing requirement that the name of the witness be so included.??Notary Signing Agents should be aware of this requirement effective January 1, 2024.
