Checkout WITI 's Equity Discussion and Connecting WINS event and learn about the profound concept of cultural humility and its significance in fostering transformational collaboration. As part of our ongoing Equity Moonshot initiative, we aim to co-design and build an equitable, regenerative, and sustainable future. Together, we can make a meaningful difference!
What to Expect
In our continuous pursuit of knowledge and understanding, this month's session centers around exploring the differences between cultural competence and cultural humility. By immersing ourselves in this critical dialogue, we can collectively shape our perspectives and actions for a more inclusive world.
Pre-Event Reading
To prepare for our group discussions, we encourage you to read an insightful newsletter article by Rick, titled "How Might We Cultivate Cultural Humility to Redress 'Isms'"? Rick, an esteemed thought leader, offers profound insights into the significance of cultural humility and how it can contribute to addressing societal inequities. You can access the article here: Link to Article
The Focus is Collaboration
During our event, members will share their unique perspectives and experiences on this topic. Then we'll break into small groups to reflect on our stories and share our own personal and professional experiences related to addressing "isms" and inequities. Through this collaborative exercise, we can gain valuable insights and learn from one another's journeys.
Learning is an On-Going Responsibility
As the event concludes, we encourage participants to share their key take-home messages and outline their next steps for ongoing learning. Together, we will foster a cultural humility mindset that allows us to engage in meaningful and transformative collaborations for the greater good.
