Without sustainability, your existence as a moving company is in jeopardy

Everyone recognises that sustainability is important, but there is still a lot of hesitation within the moving industry because our movers do not know exactly where sustainability is going.?
Government policy in Belgium is inconsistent. Will there now be LEZ zones in all Belgian cities and towns or not? By when will our moving trucks have to be electric? Are there alternatives available that will also be accepted? Will deadlines be applied unabridged or will extensions be in play??
It also complicates the costing of a move because certain costs are not known and because presumably the moving cowboys can go about their business undisturbed. After all, controls are as leaky as a sieve in our country.?
As a professional federation, we think inaction is a bad choice.?

That is why we decided to jump on the bandwagon, because we think it is important for the environment and our children's future. We also expect the social importance of sustainability to increase in the short term.?
It will become a norm when tendering and allocating relocation projects, but carbon emissions will become a basis for collecting new taxes and yardstick for determining the level of interest rates, when taking out your loans from banks. It won't be long before "Carbon banking" will be voted word of the year!?
A joint approach to sustainability for the entire Belgian removal industry seemed the best way forward. We are proud that ten members decided to support this. Our initiative aims to standardize sustainability reporting and carbon reduction across the moving industry, so that every moving company - with a little effort - can join in.?
In the word of our chairman, Bertil Durieux : "This project offers significant benefits to the relocation sector, especially to our SMEs, as it will increase their competitiveness, save costs and help them comply with the new sustainability legislation."?
This initiative is an example on how SMEs from the relocation sector can work together to achieve greater sustainability.?
