Without setbacks, there is no Comeback - Bolt Vs Blake

Usain Bolt & Yohan Blake were training partners, both from Jamaica & trained under the same coach (Glen Mills) for years.

During late 2011, when Bolt was dominating the world stage & he was getting ready to defend his title in 2012 London Olympics - Blake was trying hard to emerge from Bolt’s shadow. When Blake won the world championship in Daegu (Korea) in 2011 (after Bolt was disqualified for a false start), then clocked 19.26 in Brussels and timed 9.69 in Lausanne in 2012, he created his own identity in the World stage.

In preparation to the London Olympics, the famous Jamaican Olympic trials was about to happen and it was the first time Bolt and Blake faced each other since Blake took the world title in Daegu. Usain Bolt was supposed to win both the 100 & 200 meters hands down but suffered a major upset in both the races with Yohan Blake winning it sending the Jamaican crowd & the world to shock. Bolt’s plan to send out a statement of intent before London Olympics 2012 was shattered by his own training partner Blake and now the world waited to see how the lightening Bolt will respond in London. Entering the Olympics off two straight losses made Bolt’s future unclear. Previously, he’d lost only one race in nearly four years.

Everyone loves a good comeback story. But without a setback those comebacks wouldn’t be possible. You will experience problems, trials, difficulties, losses, or failures in the journey of life or you might be in the middle of a setback right now. How is it that some fail and fall in place while others appear to seemingly get back up and rise to the occasion – finding ultimate success? The difference lies in two areas, the first involves your “Mindset” - stop defining your setbacks as failures. The second surrounds the actions you take as soon as you experience a setback - stop playing the victim, take accountability for your setbacks, recommit to your plans and get ready for a greater comeback like Usain Bolt. Watch this video on how Bolt turned his worst nightmares to setting a Olympic record in 100 Mtrs (9.69 sec) in London & going on to win three Gold medals in the same Olympics.

The fierce rivals ended the London Olympics by running the 4x100 relay together for Jamaica winning the Gold thereby making their country & coach even more joyful.
