WITHIN THESE WALLS

I'll admit, it's a bit cliche... using the start of a new year to try and re-focus, re-energize, re-engage.?

To renew our resolve to becoming our best self.

But hey, whatever it takes.? Right?

The sun recalls from blackest night

What sleeps in silent rage

Reclaims the color, the source, the motive

Illuminates the change?

The choice to rise, the choice to fall

The decisions to choose our fate

Within these walls a beast resides

Undeterred, relentless, uncaged?

What fuels its hunger isn’t always known

But each day it surely must eat

Will it feast on the burdens of moments past

Or will it devour the abundance that lies at its feet?

Attack with vengeance what confines you

Fight the whispers of mediocrity

Reclaim your place, your right, your authority

To gorge at the tables of plenty
