WIT Construction Management Alumnus Building Big in Manhattan
It’s always a pleasure to welcome our graduates back to WIT to talk to our students about their work in the construction industry. We recently had Dominic Maher of Hines New York return to WIT to share his experiences of some of the high profile projects that he has been involved in; including: 56 Leonard, One Vanderbilt and 53W53. These iconic buildings are all amazing additions to the Manhattan skyline and Dominic spoke of the technical aspects of each, as well as the importance of funding and risk management from a development perspective.
In recognition of his ongoing contribution to the Construction Management & Engineering programme at WIT, Professor Willie Donnelly, presented Dominic with a piece of Waterford Crystal and thanked him for all of his work in securing invaluable placement opportunities in New York.
In attendance at this important event were former Construction Management staff, Eugene O'Sullivan and Kevin Ryan; current lecturers & placement co-ordinators; Jason O'Riordan and Brian Graham; Head of Department of the Built Environment; Derek Sinnott; and Founding Partner of local Project Management firm, Carron and Walsh; Marian Walsh (who is herself a graduate of the Construction Management programme at WIT).
