Hey everyone, guess what? Christmas is just around the corner! I've always held a special spot for this festive season. There's something magical about the Christmas atmosphere, brimming with joy and sparkling lights. Those lights kindle a unique kind of happiness that's hard to put into words. And let's not forget those cheerful Christmas songs! For the little ones, Christmas is synonymous with presents and scrumptious treats. In their minds, Christmas is such a wonderful memory.?

But why am I suddenly talking about photographs, you ask? Here's the thing: our memories are more like a collection of photographs rather than a continuous video, each one associated with our emotions.?

Think about it – do you remember those standout moments in your life??

And ever wondered why they stick in your mind??

It's simple, really. We remember these moments because they stir up strong emotions within us, be it joy or sorrow. The more intense the emotion, the more vivid the memory.?

Now, let me take you through a few photographs from my own life.?

Photograph one. When I was young, there is one thing I still can remember today. It is a fried chicken leg near the biggest shopping mall in my hometown. It was so delicious, tender inside and crispy outside. When I bit a slice of it, the juice came out. The memory is so vivid, I still can remember the exact location, what the street looked like, and how the aunty cooked it.?

Photograph two. Fast forward to my secondary school days. I was doing quite well academically, particularly in math, physics, and chemistry, bagging awards left and right.?Because of these excellent scores, the top high school in the city invited me to an exclusive exam, and this exam was a math exam, my best.?Pass it, and I'm in.?My teachers and parents are quite happy for me and have high expectations. But guess what? At the beginning of 50 minutes, I'm just... stuck.? I know every single word on the paper but just can’t understand it at all. I sweated a lot, and my heart was out of the classroom. The teacher even asked me whether I was sick. The truth is that I just can’t focus on the exam at all. Then you all know the result. I can never forget the moment on that day.?

Photograph three. Jump to my final year in high school. I chose a good university which is a little bit challenging for me, but I know no one will blame me if I fail. And guess what? This time I did it. I feel so lucky. I remember the day when we got the result, and my parents and I were so excited. Click, another beautiful photograph was taken.?

Dear friends, remember, our memories are many photographs. One day when you face a disagreement with your loved one, whatever the reason, don’t make it escalate. Because harsh words can take a photograph with negative emotions. Instead, step back, calm down, and solve it amicably.?

Let us try to take more wonderful photographs. You know how the photographer took good pictures, right? They will find the right place, have the right setup, and catch it at the right moment. For us, it is the same. Sometimes, capturing this photograph requires intention. Think about what loved ones like and create a scene to make them happy. The more happiness they get, the better photographs they take, and the most wonderful thing is that you are in that photograph as well.?

As Maya Angelou beautifully put it, “People will forget what you said or did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”?
