Wise Monks - Revisited
Today, while watching news in a TV channel, unknowingly my eyes have spotted on a gift given by my wife.
The 4 monks gift ("Three wise monks", representing the principle "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil", the last one says to stay calm).
I really wonder how we are following this and instantly I have got an insane thought.
Wait, is the three monks statement absolutely making sense??
I've got three curious questions in my mind.
1. If the one can not see the evil, how can he react?
2. If the one can not hear about the evil, how can he differentiate between the good and the evil?
3. If the one can not talk about the evil, how can he understand and how can he question?
Does the traditional three monks ideology really give us the peace??
In the current situation, I think the three monks statue should be like
- see the evil, then only one can react
- listen about the evil, then only one can understand what is good and what is wrong (evil)
- just speak about evil, then only one can question about it.
Ultimately, if you want to win, you should clearly know who is your enemy and what he is capable of. Then only you can understand what you should do and what you should not do.
I think our law itself is talking about the evil. The evil - and the punishment!!!
