WISDOM

The earliest lessons in life comes to us from our Mother, Father, Grandfather, Grandmother..
We are at that stage good listeners. We catch expressions through words, and repeat them. We are encouraged, appreciated, and even hailed for every utterance.
We enter the next stage getting to school and the teacher tends us along with many other children. We begin to learn a lot more words and expression from the school and the other children. We are then learning lessons through observation. This only multiplies as we grow, and our curiosity starts getting aroused about things around us. We start seeking answers, fortunately, we have GOOGLE that comes to our rescue. Our memory system has grown in us all through silently. It's in the retaining and recall ability we start getting recognized and are awarded marks, grades etc. This spurs us and teach us how to compete. We may win and this boosts our confidence, but, may also fail at times, and this breaks our confidence, though temporarily. By holding on to our strengths an by working even harder we get even. This teaches us lessons on resolve, grit, ability to fight and to overcome impediments. This sets us apart and we with age, and experience gain WISDOM, and be recognized as being wise people.
That's all what it takes.
So remember
01. To listen well.
02. To express yourself, right or wrong doesn't matter.
03. Observe.
04. Think
05. Become curious
06. Retain learning
07. Recall learning
08. Learn lessons, both with victories and failures.
09. Be humble and approachable.
10. Help others with their learning. This will embed your learning too, by teaching what you know. This becomes a habit.
DOING ALL THIS WHEN PEOPLE GET THE BENEFITS FROM PEOPLE LIKE YOU, IT EARNS YOU THE STATUS OF BEING A "WISE-PERSON," which in turn earns you love, respect and laurels, that make you a "GREAT HUMAN BEING."
It's not what you are, or what you do today that impresses many. What you are becoming and what you'll be remembered for, much after you are gone that makes the difference, between the ordinary and the extraordinary.
The biggest mistake you make is thinking that you work.
Remember you own your life. Companies own jobs, and they give to you when they hire you for doing their work, when in fact, you really own your career.
So what's the conclusion, it's your life, your career, it's entirely in your hands to steer it your way. Do it wisely, that's WISDOM.

8 年No one really knows the origin of wisdom but it’s a fact that we start absorbing the lessons from the day we are born. And as Raman rightly says, these lessons begin with the parents and in due course, the ambit expands to include teachers , friends and philosophers. However, all through this journey, one must not ignore nature; for, it is nature that teaches us the most valuable lesson – lesson in the art of survival and living a fulfilling life! Great philosophers and thinkers of the past were all aligned with nature; reasons why their advice had a natural logic and flow and why they are so relevant even today. Talking of wisdom, my curiosity was piqued enough to go look for its precise meaning. Oxford dictionary defines wisdom as the quality of having experience, knowledge, ability to make a good judgement; the quality of being wise. A rare combination indeed! Which led me to reminisce about the stories I read in my childhood. And the ones I enjoyed more were invariably centered around a wise old man to whom people went to seek solutions to their problems. And true to his being, he did not disappoint any one. For some reason, I used to feel happy as if the old man had solved my problem. When I recall some of the stories, what strikes me most is the simplicity and elegance of the old man’s solution to some of life’s most intractable and complex issues. Today, I realize all those seemingly simple solutions were based on knowledge, experience and a keen sense of judgement and fair play. Throw in a bit of wit and the seeker went laughing all the way home, a wiser person! I suppose this is what wisdom is all about. Thanks Raman for an insightful piece.
